TimeKit is built from the ground up with your privacy in mind. Your time tracking data stays on your device, always.
📊 What We Collect
Time Tracking Data
What We Collect: Time entries, categories/projects, start/stop timestamps, manual time adjustments, category customizations
How We Use It: Display your work hours, calculate billable time, generate reports, track productivity patterns
Where It's Stored: Locally on your device only. We do NOT upload your time tracking data to any servers or share your work records with third parties.
Usage and Analytics Data
What We Collect: App usage patterns, crash reports, performance metrics, feature adoption
How We Use It: Improve app stability, understand valuable features, fix bugs and technical issues
Collection Method: Anonymous analytics (NOT linked to your identity), aggregate data only using MetricKit (Apple's privacy-respecting analytics framework)

- We do NOT link your data to third-party data for advertising
- We do NOT share your data with data brokers
- We do NOT track you across other apps or websites
- We do NOT serve any advertisements (Premium or Free)
- We do NOT collect your personal information (name, email, contact details)
No Advertising: TimeKit does not display any advertisements. Your free tier experience is supported by our premium subscriptions, not by ads or tracking.
Local Data Storage
All your time tracking data, categories, and reports are stored locally on your device using iOS secure storage mechanisms.
- No cloud storage of time tracking data (unless you enable iCloud sync)
- No remote servers processing your information
- Data encrypted using iOS security features
- Optional iCloud sync (encrypted end-to-end)
Optional iCloud Sync
TimeKit offers optional iCloud sync to backup and sync your data across your devices, but this data never leaves Apple's ecosystem.
- iCloud sync is optional (disabled by default)
- Data encrypted by Apple's end-to-end encryption
- You can disable iCloud sync at any time
- We have NO access to your iCloud data
What We Don't Collect
❌ Personal Information
No names, emails, or contact information unless you voluntarily contact us for support.
❌ Tracking Across Apps
We don't track your behavior across other apps or websites.
❌ Precise Location
TimeKit doesn't access or store your location information.
❌ Data Sales
We never sell your data to third parties or data brokers.
Notifications
TimeKit may request notification permission for:
- Break Reminders (Premium): Remind you to take breaks during long work sessions
- Pomodoro Timer (Premium): Notify you when Pomodoro intervals complete
- Goal Tracking (Premium): Alert you about progress towards daily/weekly goals
Privacy: Notifications are generated locally on your device. No notification data is sent to external servers.
Optional: You can disable notifications anytime in iOS Settings → TimeKit → Notifications
Third-Party Services
Apple StoreKit (In-App Purchases)
Purpose: Process Premium subscription purchases
Data Handled by Apple: Payment information, subscription status
TimeKit Access: We only receive subscription status (active/expired), no payment details
Privacy Policy: Apple Privacy Policy
Apple MetricKit (Analytics)
Purpose: Anonymous crash reports and performance monitoring
Data Collected: App crashes, hang rate, battery usage, scroll performance (all anonymous)
Privacy: MetricKit data is anonymous and NOT linked to your identity
Data Retention
- Time Tracking Data: Stored locally until you delete the app or manually clear data
- Categories & Projects: Stored locally until you delete them or the app
- Reports & Exports: Stored locally until you delete them
- Analytics Data: Retained by Apple for 90 days in aggregated form (MetricKit)
- iCloud Data (if enabled): Retained in your iCloud account until you disable sync or delete data
To delete all your data: Simply delete the TimeKit app from your device. All locally stored data will be permanently removed. If you enabled iCloud sync, you can also delete TimeKit data from Settings → [Your Name] → iCloud → Manage Storage.
Your Rights
You have the following rights regarding your data:
- Access: All your data is stored locally on your device and accessible within the app
- Deletion: Delete individual entries within the app or delete the app to remove all data
- Export: Premium users can export their data in CSV/PDF format
- Revoke Permissions: Disable Notifications anytime in iOS Settings
- Disable Sync: Turn off iCloud sync in app Settings
Children's Privacy
TimeKit is suitable for users of all ages (4+). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. All data stays on-device, and Premium subscriptions require parental approval through Family Sharing.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by:
- Posting the new privacy policy on this page
- Updating the "Last updated" date at the top
- Displaying an in-app notification for material changes
We encourage you to review this privacy policy periodically for any changes.
